Jeanette Bazis serves as partner at Greene Espel PLLP, where she has established herself as a commanding force in business, intellectual property, and employment litigation with over three decades of courtroom experience.

Bazis specializes in cases at the intersection of intellectual property and employment law, including trade secret litigation and restrictive covenant disputes. Her practice also encompasses traditional employment litigation, IP disputes, and complex, high-stakes products liability, insurance coverage, and commercial disputes, where she leads teams at both trial and appellate levels. Early in her career, Bazis used her business litigation and IP skills to return the 1960s hit song “Louie Louie” to its rightful owners.

Her approach combines incisive legal strategy with a deep understanding of client objectives, consistently delivering victories in high-stakes disputes. She draws on 28 years of experience managing a law firm to inform her work with business clients, eschewing cookie-cutter approaches to litigation in favor of tailored strategies.

Bazis has been twice honored with Minnesota Lawyer’s “Attorney of the Year” Award and is perennially recognized on the Top 100 Minnesota Super Lawyers and Top 50 Women Super Lawyers lists and is named a “Notable Practitioner” in Chambers USA each year.

Bazis co-founded and co-chairs the University of Minnesota Law School Alumnae Network, fostering an inclusive community and providing opportunities for women students and graduates to stay connected, grow their networks, and participate in professional development and philanthropic activities.

She has played a pivotal leadership role as co-chair of the Federal Bar Association’s Conference Planning Committee for the past three years, culminating in this fall’s national conference in Minneapolis. Her work has been instrumental in delivering exceptional education and premier networking opportunities for attorneys from across the country.

Bazis served on the inaugural board of the Infinity Project in 2009 and has been a member of the organization’s executive committee ever since, serving as president in 2013-2014. She was president of the University of Minnesota Law School’s board of advisors in 2021-22.
