Aimée Dayhoff is a shareholder at Winthrop & Weinstine in Minneapolis, where she has built one of the city’s most prominent litigation practices over more than 20 years. Her practice spans employment litigation, arbitration and mediation, commercial disputes, and intellectual property matters, representing clients from small family-owned businesses to publicly traded companies.

Dayhoff has maintained an active trial practice at a time when jury trials have become increasingly rare in the legal profession. She is known for her engaging courtroom presence, creativity in legal strategy, and ability to connect with jurors on a personal level. Her work has included matters requiring international depositions and cases resulting in multimillion-dollar jury verdicts, as well as smaller-value disputes that impact entire communities.

In September 2024, Dayhoff led a three-week jury trial for Waumandee State Bank that resulted in a unanimous verdict and a $176,000 award plus attorneys’ fees. The complex non-compete case involved more than 25 witnesses and hundreds of exhibits in a small Wisconsin community where seating a jury proved challenging due to the local nature of the dispute.

Recently, Dayhoff represented Post Foods in a high-profile trademark dispute against the musical group OK Go. The band had accused Post of violating the U.S. Trademark Act by attempting to register and use the mark “OK GO!” for breakfast cereal products. After a 12.5-hour settlement conference, Dayhoff successfully negotiated a settlement and the case was dismissed.

At Winthrop & Weinstine, Dayhoff leads the Financial Services and Employment Litigation practices and co-chairs the firm’s Associate Review committee. She serves on the Marketing Strategy committee and represents the firm in the Law Firm Alliance, a network of law firms throughout the United States, Canada, Mexico and the European Union.

Dayhoff chairs the Minnesota Zoo Foundation board of directors and serves on its Governance Committee. She is a member of the Women’s Leadership Council, a United Way affinity group focused on early childhood education funding.
