Anne Regan serves as partner and head of the Class Action practice group at Hellmuth & Johnson, where she advocates for individuals, small businesses, and public clients in complex and class action litigation across the country. Regan has built her career on the belief that litigation can level the playing field and drive results for clients.

An experienced generalist, Regan’s legal expertise spans multiple industries, including agriculture, health care, insurance, financial services, housing, and manufacturing. Her practice focuses on consumer protection, antitrust, data breach, employment, and housing matters. She has contributed to multimillion-dollar class and mass action recoveries throughout her career.

Before joining Hellmuth & Johnson, Regan spent nearly a decade providing litigation and advisory services to a state pension fund. She also held an appointment as special assistant attorney general to the State of New Mexico in a case involving antitrust and consumer fraud violations in the payment card industry.

Courts have recognized Regan’s leadership by appointing her as class or lead counsel in multiple class actions and to leadership positions in multi-district litigation. Recently, she has been appointed as class or lead counsel in several significant matters, including Sewall v. Home Partners Holdings, Richmond v. Home Partners Holdings, and In re University of Minnesota Data Breach Litigation, all of which have settled on a class action basis.

Her advocacy has contributed to favorable outcomes at trial and appeal, as well as settlements that have collectively provided over $125 million in benefits to class members. She successfully argued an appeal in In re Pawn America Consumer Data Breach Litigation, which resulted in a class settlement.

Regan has been appointed to leadership roles in major litigation, including the Plaintiffs’ Executive Committee in In re CenturyLink Sales Practices and Securities Litigation and as a Plaintiffs’ Steering Committee firm member in In re FedEx Ground Package System Inc. Employment Practices Litigation.

Beyond her legal practice, Regan contributes through mentoring new attorneys at Hellmuth & Johnson and community involvement with Mid-Minnesota Legal Aid and the Minnesota Federal Bar Association Pro Se Project. She serves on the Minnesota Federal Bar Association Legal Education Seminar committee.
