Norton Rose Fulbright is a national law firm and leader in employing women attorneys. Several women hold high national positions in the company and operate offices in several cities, including Minneapolis.

With more than 3,000 attorneys advising clients in more than 50 locations worldwide, Norton Rose Fulbright has worked to hire, promote and train women. One example is the Minneapolis office led by Mary Young, who oversees more than 20 attorneys.

To encourage female leadership and growth, the firm established Women in Norton Rose Fulbright (WiN) Council. The council offers the firm guidance on recruitment, retainment and advancement of women attorneys. The WiN council, however, goes beyond just advising senior counsel.

For example, the WiN “coffee break” program provides a monthly 15-minute coffee break pairing women attorneys with one another to share advice, stories and network. Senior women attorneys share their stories through a series called “Letters to Myself” to inform colleagues of transitional moments in their careers in a fireside chat model.

The firm’s national committee boasts 44% women, with a third of members coming from diverse communities. Young has said that Norton Rose Fulbright has a “firm commitment to supporting and valuing diverse perspectives.”
