Anthony Ostlund Louwagie Dressen Boylan P.A.

Richard Ostlund, an accomplished trial attorney and author for the American Bar Association, which describes him as “among the cream of the commercial litigation bar,” is being honored in 2024 for his service to the profession and his pro bono/community contributions after selections in 2009 and 2022 for major case results.

In 2024, Ostlund’s 30-year dedication to improving pediatric and adult health care in Minnesota was honored by the University of Minnesota and Fairview Health System.

Ostlund received the University of Minnesota Foundation’s highest honor, “Life Trustee,” after 26 years as a director and chair of the M Health Fairview Masonic Children’s Hospital, UM Pediatrics Research Foundation, UM Children’s Health Campaign, Minnesota Medical Foundation Trustee and University of Minnesota Foundation Trustee. He contributed hundreds of hours annually recruiting new gender and racially diverse trustees, and advocating for and overseeing all philanthropy supporting the mission of the University of Minnesota. 

Fairview also honored Ostlund, who served as a director since 2013 and chairman of the board from 2019 through 2024, by naming him the first chair emeritus in Fairview’s 122-year history and naming the board conference facility the “Richard T. Ostlund Board Room.”

Ostlund led key changes that improved Fairview’s skills-based board leadership, its navigation through the financial challenges of the pandemic, and in guiding Fairview’s return to financial profitability in 2024. During his tenure as board chair, Fairview became one of the first health systems in America to adopt a health equity program to expand access to affordable healthcare to all.
