Shareholder at Ogletree Deakins, and former managing shareholder of the Minneapolis office, Cynthia A. Bremer is co-chair of the firm’s Healthcare Industry Group. She is also a member of the Steering Committee of Ogletree Deakins’ Workplace Investigations and Organizational Assessments Practice Group. 

Bremer works with other industries, including hospitality and manufacturing. While Bremer has significant experience with employment law and complex litigation, she also practices in class action, disability access, higher education, and unfair competition and trade secrets.

Bremer has tried numerous bench and jury trials. She has provided employment litigation defense in federal and state courts, including class and collective actions. Bremer has worked on employment law cases across the country, securing numerous dismissals and favorable summary judgment rulings in cases with claims involving ADA, sex discrimination, race discrimination, and FMLA. She also decertified an ADEA representative action. Bremer has litigated many restrictive covenants suits, including seeking and preliminary injunctions. Additionally, she has obtained favorable results in several arbitrations that involve commercial and contract claims.

Bremer began practicing in Minnesota in 1999. After graduating from Carleton College in 1990, Bremer pursued law school at Washington University School of Law, receiving her J.D. in 1994. She began her career as an assistant attorney general of Missouri. She practiced in North Dakota in private practice and as a special assistant attorney general before practicing in Minnesota.

Bremer counsels the legal and business communities, advising them on employment law issues that involve current and past employees. Additionally, Bremer presents seminars on human resource and employment law issues. She has recently presented on attorney-client privilege and workplace investigations.
