These include matters such as asset purchases, carve-outs, divestitures, joint ventures, mergers, and stock purchases. Benedict has overseen complex transactions across multiple industries, including agriculture, beverage, food, and health. Representative transactions include UnitedHealth’s acquisition of a hearing services plan, a third party administrator, and a medical transportation benefits provider, as well as Chelan Fruit Cooperative in its sale to an agricultural investment manager. 

Benedict is one member of 175+ in Dorsey’s M&A Group. According to her 2024 Power List profile, while Benedict is a female lawyer in a field that has typically had more male than female attorneys, Benedict has been able to navigate by focusing on communication. “I have not had many experiences where [gender] is anything directly problematic. There are just different approaches to negotiation and communication,” said Benedict. She also stressed that her approach in M&A was that of “cards on the table” to reach a conclusion that suits all parties.

Additionally, Benedict serves as the firm recruiting co-chair. Benedict was first named to the M&A Power List in 2023.
