2020 Up & Coming Attorneys: Erin Westbrook

Erin Westbrook was built to be a lawyer. She graduated magna cum laude from the University of St. Thomas School of Law. After stops at a couple of other firms, she landed at Saul Ewing Arnstein & Lehr shortly after the firm opened.

In her work as an associate, Westbrook has taken on roles in significant litigation matters, drawing praise from clients and colleagues alike.

How and when did you know you wanted to study law and pursue it as a career?

My uncle was a lawyer and I thought he was really cool. Then I took the LSAT and was certain that I wanted to be a lawyer

What do you find the most rewarding or love best about working in the legal profession?

Being able to work with the people at my firm to help our clients.

What inspires you and motivates you to achieve your goals?

Working with cool and interesting clients, and working with people at our firm who I really respect.

What’s the best piece of advice that you ever received?

Be authentic. Sometimes you see these great trial lawyers, and they have these big personas. You can try to emulate that, but if it isn’t you, it’s not going to be effective. I have to be myself, even if that makes me different from someone I look up to.

What is something that most people don’t know about you?

I’m a huge Harry Potter fan. Last year I went to Harry Potter World in Florida with a couple of girlfriends.

What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?

Especially during COVID, I’m doing a lot of reading. I also love exercising. I’ll try any group exercise class just to give it a shot.
