Carlton Fields has announced that it has opened a new office in Minneapolis. The firm asserts that the office will strengthen the firm’s national litigation and class action practice, particularly in the areas of product liability and mass torts. Its office is located in the IDS center.
The national law firm, known for its national product liability defense practice, was founded in 1901. It has grown to over 300 attorneys in 12 offices across the United States. The Minneapolis office is the first for the firm in the Midwest.
Shareholders Jenny Covington and Molly Jean Given lead the office as co-office managing shareholders. Additionally, David Carrier and Jenna Durr will join the office as shareholders.
“We are delighted to welcome this best-in-class team of product liability and class action lawyers to our firm,” said Gary Sasso, president and CEO of Carlton Fields, in a news release. “They have deep experience in defending national product and mass tort liability trials and class actions. Also, Minneapolis is a strong business and legal market where a number of significant Carlton Fields clients are located.”
“Companies today face more litigation threats than ever before,” Covington said, highlighting the “deep bench of seasoned trial lawyers” the firm has. “The opportunity to launch and build a new office for a nationally recognized leader in the legal industry is tremendously exciting.”
