Who is Minnesota’s most disgraced law grad?

Listen to this article

Televangelist Pat Robertson was voted the most disgraceful graduate from Yale Law School in a recent informal survey conducted by the legal blog/tabloid Above the Law.

Robertson beat out some heavy weights for the title including former President Bill Clinton, U.S. Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas, John Yoo, author of the infamous “torture memos” during the Bush presidency and Republican candidate for the U.S. Senate from Alaska Joe Miller. (Miller’s comments on the campaign trail that federal programs like Social Security and Medicare are unconstitutional recently drew the attention of Clinton who said that Miller has done “more than most” to dispel the idea that “Yale is an elite institution.”

But the vote wasn’t even close. Robertson, a 1955 graduate, had nearly half the votes. A quick Google search proves why.

Robertson on the 2009 earthquake in Haiti/ French-Haitian history:[The people of Haiti] were under the heel of the French. You know, Napoleon III, or whatever. And they got together and swore a pact to the devil. They said, we will serve you if you’ll get us free from the French. True story. And so, the devil said, okay it’s a deal […] ever since, they have been cursed by one thing after the other.”

Robertson on a Gay Pride event scheduled at Disney World/ meteorology: I would warn Orlando that you’re right in the way of some serious hurricanes, and I don’t think I’d be waving those flags in God’s face if I were you… A condition like this will bring about the destruction of your nation. It’ll bring about terrorist bombs; it’ll bring earthquakes, tornadoes and possibly a meteor.

Robertson on the “ladies”/ marriage: I know this is painful for the ladies to hear, but if you get married, you have accepted the headship of a man, your husband. Christ is the head of the household and the husband is the head of the wife, and that’s the way it is, period.

All this got us to thinking: Who would be the most disgraceful graduate of the four Twin Cities area law schools. Got a nominee? Bar Buzz would like to know. True story. Period.
