Nkechi “Kiki” Gillman is the principal attorney, CEO and founder of The Gillman Immigration Law Firm in Minnesota, where she has practiced immigration law for more than 12 years.

Gillman earned a bachelor’s degree in business management from Kent State University before going on to earn her law degree from Mitchell Hamline School of Law in 2009. Early in her career, she advocated for immigrants facing deportation and seeking humanitarian relief through the Immigrant Law Center in Minnesota.

She founded her own firm with a focus on immigrant survivors of domestic violence, guiding men, women and children through the green card self-petition process. Her practice is built around empowering clients to navigate the immigration system on their own terms.

Gillman has been recognized among the Top 100 Black Lawyers in the United States. She has also spoken to law students on the topic of authenticity in legal practice.

Loan T. Huynh, a shareholder at Fredrikson & Byron, chairs the firm’s Immigration Group and leads its I-9 audit and corporate immigration compliance and H-2 temporary workers practice areas.
Huynh earned her bachelor’s degree summa cum laude from the University of Houston in 1992 and her law degree from the University of Houston Law Center in 1995. She was admitted to the Texas bar that year and joined the Minnesota bar in 2002.
Her practice centers on employment-based immigration and global mobility solutions for employers across industries including agriculture, health care, hospitality, financial services and high-tech. She advises clients on corporate immigration policy, I-9 and E-Verify compliance, worksite enforcement defense and immigration due diligence in mergers and acquisitions.
Huynh has served as an expert and independent monitor on H-2B visa matters and previously served as H-2 vice chair of the American Immigration Lawyers Association’s Department of Labor Liaison Committee from 2015 to 2019. She is also a member of Fredrikson’s board of directors.

Vincent P. Martin is the owner and principal attorney at Martin Law, where he heads the firm’s immigration practice group. Prior to founding Martin Law, he served as the lead immigration attorney at one of the state’s 50 largest law firms.

Martin earned a bachelor’s degree in speech communication from the University of Minnesota and his law degree from William Mitchell College of Law in St. Paul. He is licensed to practice in Minnesota, the Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals, the U.S. District Court of Minnesota and federal immigration court.

His practice covers employer and business immigration, family-based sponsorship, student visas, asylum and deportation defense. He also serves as an expert witness on immigration law matters for other attorneys.

Martin is a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association and serves as a liaison between the AILA Minnesota/Dakotas chapter and U.S. Customs and Border Protection. He has presented on immigration topics at the Minnesota State Bar Association, the Upper Midwest Immigration Conference and the Minnesota Family Law Institute.

John T. Medeiros is a shareholder and head of corporate immigration at Nilan Johnson Lewis PA, where he represents domestic and foreign companies across industries including healthcare, engineering, information technology and manufacturing.
Medeiros earned his law degree from Hamline University School of Law in 2014. He has served as adjunct professor of immigration law at Mitchell Hamline School of Law and previously chaired the Minnesota/Dakotas Chapter of the American Immigration Lawyers Association. He currently serves on the association’s Business Section Steering Committee.
His practice spans employment-based immigration including PERM labor certification, nonimmigrant visa petitions, extraordinary ability petitions, national interest waivers and J-1 waivers for foreign-born physicians. He is also a member of the International Medical Graduate Task Force, which works to improve the licensing pathway for international medical graduates trained in the United States.
Medeiros has authored and co-authored numerous publications on immigration law and presents regularly at continuing legal education seminars and immigration conferences.

Stacey Rogers is the lead attorney at SRR Law Group LLC where she has guided more than 1,300 clients through the U.S. immigration system since immigrating to the United States in 2018. Her practice focuses on complex, high-stakes cases requiring tailored legal strategies, spanning removal defense, asylum, Special Immigrant Juvenile matters and visas for crime victims.

Among her notable cases, Rogers won removal proceedings for Walter Acuna, a Special Immigrant Juvenile, asylum seeker and trafficking victim, and has continued fighting for his release through federal court actions and legislative advocacy largely without fees following a Department of Homeland Security appeal. She also secured the release of Jackie Merlos, a Portland mother held in ICE custody for more than four months, after filing a habeas petition.

Rogers has also worked to protect Latino community members targeted by online scams impersonating immigration judges, helping victims obtain crime-based visas and navigate missed court appearances resulting from the fraud.

Dorsey & Whitney LLP Partner Mike Sevilla concentrates his practice on business immigration law, guiding employers through the complexities of nonimmigrant and immigrant visa matters for their workforces.

Sevilla brings extensive experience across a wide range of visa classifications and nearly all aspects of permanent residence applications. He has spent several years reviewing and analyzing Department of Labor regulations in the context of labor certification, developing and implementing effective PERM strategies for clients navigating the hiring of foreign workers.

His recent work has centered on immigration enforcement counseling, including helping clients establish internal compliance policies, conduct I-9 audits and respond to investigations by Homeland Security Investigations.

Jennifer Stohl Powell is the executive director of the Immigrant Law Center of Minnesota, a position she assumed in October 2024 after serving as interim executive director since June of that year.

Stohl Powell’s career in immigrant and refugee services began before law school, when she volunteered at a refugee camp for Central Americans on the Texas-Mexico border and worked as a paralegal with migrant farmworkers in Minnesota. She holds a bachelor’s degree with honors in Latin American Studies from Carleton College, a law degree from the University of Minnesota Law School and a master’s degree in nonprofit management from Hamline University.

After law school, she worked for Southern Minnesota Regional Legal Services before joining ILCM, where she has been a staff member for more than seven years. She is a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association and has presented at continuing legal education classes and regional conferences. She has also conducted community education outreach in Spanish.
