Jennifer Stohl Powell is the executive director of the Immigrant Law Center of Minnesota, a position she assumed in October 2024 after serving as interim executive director since June of that year.

Stohl Powell’s career in immigrant and refugee services began before law school, when she volunteered at a refugee camp for Central Americans on the Texas-Mexico border and worked as a paralegal with migrant farmworkers in Minnesota. She holds a bachelor’s degree with honors in Latin American Studies from Carleton College, a law degree from the University of Minnesota Law School and a master’s degree in nonprofit management from Hamline University.

After law school, she worked for Southern Minnesota Regional Legal Services before joining ILCM, where she has been a staff member for more than seven years. She is a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association and has presented at continuing legal education classes and regional conferences. She has also conducted community education outreach in Spanish.
