Jill A. Brisbois is the founder of The Jab Firm, where she focuses on criminal defense. She began her career as a public defender in Minnesota’s Tenth Judicial District before establishing her own practice.

Edmunds began his legal career as a prosecutor at a firm representing cities before transitioning to criminal defense. Criminal Defense Attorney and Founder of Gallagher Criminal Defense Thomas C. Gallagher has practiced for more than three decades. He earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology before beginning work as a paralegal in 1984. He went on to earn his JD from the University of Minnesota Law School in 1988, then joined a law firm handling criminal defense and other practice areas before founding his own firm in 1993.

Ramsay Law Firm PLLC Partner Dan Koewler has practiced DWI defense since 2008. He earned a law degree from the University of Minnesota Law School.

Koewler has shaped Minnesota DWI law through significant appellate work. In State v. Thompson before the Minnesota Supreme Court in 2016, he successfully argued that Minnesota’s decades-old DWI test refusal law was unconstitutional as applied to warrantless urine tests. In 2025, Koewler and Charles Ramsay uncovered one of the most significant forensic-science failures in Minnesota history by exposing systemic flaws in the state’s DWI breath-testing program that triggered statewide reform.

Nick Leverson is a criminal defense attorney and co-founder of Leverson Budke PLLC, where his practice focuses on DWI defense, assault, drug charges, gun rights restoration and expungement. William J. Mauzy is a criminal defense attorney whose career spans more than five decades. He earned a law degree from the University of Minnesota Law School in 1973, where he subsequently clerked for the State Public Defender’s Office.

Mauzy has won more than 100 cases in state and federal court, with acquittals spanning securities fraud, bank fraud, insider trading, tax evasion, health care fraud, antitrust, environmental crimes and bribery. He achieved the first acquittal in Minnesota using the battered woman’s syndrome defense in a murder trial and the first acquittal in the federal district of Minnesota. He was also the first Minnesota attorney to try a case against the Office of Independent Counsel, securing a full acquittal for an insurance company CEO in Washington, D.C.

Charles Ramsay is the founding partner of Ramsay Law Firm PLLC, which he established in 1995 following his honorable discharge from the United States Army.

Steve Schleicher is a partner and chair of the investigations and white collar defense group at Maslon LLP in Minneapolis, where he has practiced since 2017. He has tried more than 30 jury trials over a nearly 30-year career spanning federal prosecution and private practice.

Schleicher is widely recognized for his role as a special prosecutor in the homicide trial of Derek Chauvin for the murder of George Floyd. His cross-examination of the defense use-of-force expert drew national attention, and his closing argument was broadly credited as a pivotal factor in the verdict. He also served as a prosecutor in the Jacob Wetterling case, handling federal child pornography charges against Danny Heinrich that led to Heinrich’s confession to Jacob’s kidnapping and murder and the recovery of his remains.

In private practice, Schleicher has represented ExxonMobil as local counsel in litigation brought by the Minnesota Attorney General’s Office and secured a rare acquittal in the Feeding Our Future federal fraud prosecution in 2024. He is ranked Band 1 by Chambers USA in white collar defense.

Joe Tamburino is the owner of Tamburino Law Group, where he has practiced criminal defense for more than 30 years. He earned his undergraduate degree from New York University and his juris doctor from the University of Minnesota Law School, then began his career at the Anoka County Attorney’s Office and the Public Defender’s Office before joining what would become Tamburino Law Group in 1997.

Tamburino holds board certification as a criminal law specialist from the Minnesota State Bar Association and has personally tried more than 100 jury trials across a broad range of matters including DWI, white collar crimes and criminal sexual conduct.
