Faegre Drinker Partner Angela Fogt counsels nonprofit organizations on formation and operation. She advises clients on governance, charitable gifts and endowments, corporate philanthropy, and domestic and international grant-making.

Fogt earned a B.A. in political science from Iowa State University and a law degree with high distinction from the University of Iowa College of Law, where she was inducted into the Order of the Coif.

She serves as primary outside counsel for the Vail Valley Foundation and advises more than 30 company-affiliated charities on formation, tax-exemption, grant-making, employee assistance programs, scholarships and compliance with private foundation excise tax rules. She also works with private foundations and public charity grant-makers on governance, program-related investments and strategic collaborations.

Fogt has been recognized as a Top Women in Law honoree by Minnesota Lawyer in 2025 and appeared on the Minnesota Super Lawyers Rising Stars list in nonprofit organizations from 2015 to 2024. She previously served on the board of directors of the Junior League of Minneapolis.
