Hellmuth & Johnson Partner Carol Moss practices business litigation, cannabis law, probate litigation, banking and finance, and appeals. She chairs the firm’s cannabis law practice group, representing clients across the product stream from growers to retailers.

Moss has been a central figure in Minnesota’s cannabis legalization effort. She served on the advisory board of the Minnesota Is Ready Coalition, which pushed for adult-use cannabis legalization, providing legal guidance through the legislative process and testifying before government agencies. She was subsequently selected by Gov. Tim Walz’s office to serve on the Cannabis Advisory Council to the Office of Cannabis Management.

A local and national spokesperson for the cannabis industry, Moss has been interviewed by and written for outlets including Business Insider, MPR, CBS and Minnesota Lawyer. She provides pro bono legal work for victims of domestic violence and serves as chair of the City of Robbinsdale Human Rights Commission. She is licensed to practice in Minnesota, Wisconsin, Missouri and North Dakota.
