House Jobs Task Force heads toward finish line with all-day hearing

DFL Veterans Caucus gubernatorial forum

Politics in Minnesota was at the Center for Changing Lives in Minneapolis this Saturday for the Minnesota DFL Veterans Caucus Governor Candidates Forum. David Brauer was the moderator for a spirited conversation between the candidates and members of the Veterans Caucus and other supporters. A few other legislators and other familiar faces were in the room, like Sens. Jim Carlson (DFL-Eagan) and Linda Berglin (DFL-Minneapolis), John Wodele, and Ember Reichgott-Junge. Atkins and Rukavina mean well, but overstep with attacks on Google Voice

Last week on the PIM site we discussed Rep. Joe Atkins' (DFL-Inver Grove Heights) efforts to investigate Google, Inc.'s Voice application—a free web app that connects one phone number to multiple phones. Atkins is indignant at Google's practice of not connecting calls to certain lines in rural Minnesota, and he has a new partner in the crusade: this week, Rep. Tom Rukavina (DFL-Virginia) wrote an op-ed decrying the "discrimination" against Greater Minnesotans.
