Business groups remain aligned with GOP budget
As the Republicans and DFL Gov. Mark Dayton persist in a stalemate that could result in a government shutdown, Minnesota Chamber of Commerce President David Olson said he’s not getting pushback from his members on the Legislature’s central budget choice: to hold the line on tax increases.
Shoving match over LGA
State lawmakers have made extensive cuts in aids and credits to local governments as a means of coping with multibillion-dollar budget deficits in recent years. And in view of the $6.2 billion budget deficit for 2012-13, more cuts to local government aid are looming.
