Poll: Minnesotans not happy about the budget fix

The poll released by the Bush Foundation on Thursday finds that more than two-thirds of Minnesotans don’t like the budget deal agreed to by Gov. Mark Dayton and the GOP majorities in the Legislature, which included cuts to spending, a large K-12 school payment delay and borrowing against future tobacco settlement payments.

Paper Trail: GOP policy-laden offer to Gov. Dayton

The so-called “cone of silence” over budget negotiations has cracked since talks melted down Thursday afternoon and Minnesota headed into a state government shutdown. Dayton spokesman Bob Hume also revealed a “confidential draft” of an early compromise offer via Twitter Friday morning that details more of the behind-closed doors talks.
