Zach Rodvold, House DFL Director of Legislative and Caucus Services, will now be the campaign director for the caucus. Redistricting analyst Jaime Tincher will takover Rodvold's job in mid January.

New House and Senate DFL leaders, whose caucuses lost their majorities in Tuesday's election, vow to "negotiate very hard" with Republicans. In contrast to anti-tax Republicans, they said new revenue needs to be considered in next year's budget debate.

The House DFL this evening elected Paul Thissen of Minneapolis as their new leader. The caucus reportedly met for three hours. They gathered in St. Paul two days after losing their majority to the Republicans in the general election.

DFL legislators in the House and Senate today passed a supplemental budget bill by comfortable margins. The votes weren't cast along straight party lines, however.

The House DFL caucus raised $635,937 in 2009, which was off the mark set in 2007. The DFL's fundraising treasurer said that the weak economy, unallotment of campaign susbidies and intense interest in the governor's race hinder fundraising.

Throughout his 43 years, Andrew Wittenborg has had ample reason to count himself fortunate.
