Three DFL candidates have lined up for the primary battle in Berglin's Minneapolis district, and two candidates will go head-to-head in a primary for Scheid's old seat.

The special elections will be held Oct. 18, with a primary scheduled the month before on Sept. 13.

Late this morning I ran into Rep. Jeremy Kalin, the North Branch DFL rep who's not running for re-election this year, on the convention floor. His first words: "So what's your pool bet?" He was talking about how many ballots, and hours, it would take to settle Saturday's gubernatorial endorsement fight.
