The House DFL omnibus tax bill, unveiled at a Tax Day Capitol press conference on Monday, would raise the new revenues via a permanent increase in the state's income tax rate for top earners, a temporary income tax surcharge, reducing some corporate loopholes and an increase in taxes on cigarettes and alcohol.

Incoming DFL Speaker of the Paul Thissen rolled out a list of 28 members of his new majority caucus that will hold gavels when the Legislature convenes in January.

The DFL and its caucus units have spent more than $5.4 million during 2012, and have a combined $2.32 million cash on hand.

Fundraising and spending reports are due from all four legislative caucuses to the Minnesota Campaign Finance and Public Disclosure board on Tuesday.

DFL House caucus spokeswoman Carrie Lucking will move into the executive director role at ABM, taking the place of current director Denise Cardinal as she transitions into her new job as founding director.
