The former DFL legislator has harsh words for incumbent Attorney General Lori Swanson.

In a St. Paul new conference on Wednesday, DFL Party Chairman Ken Martin was joined by Independence Party spokesman Matt Lewis, Libertarian Party Chairman Bob Odden and Minneapolis City Councilor and Green Party member Cam Gordon to announce their support for the legislation this session. The Minnesota Log Cabin Republicans also support the bill, but were not present at the news conference.

Not everyone sticks to the three-party system in Minnesota. A slew of candidates will sail through the gubernatorial primary election on Tuesday as part of unofficial party tickets that generally go unchallenged.

It may have been the first day of the fair, but by noon or so last Thursday the scent of frier grease smelled like it had been hanging in the air all summer. And the politicos seemed like they'd been there pressing flesh even longer. Is anyone shocked that there isn't exactly a public stampede to hear what the 2010 gubernatorial candidates have to say just yet?
