Minnesota Senate District 50 Chair William Krueger banged his gavel on the podium in front of more than 100 DFLers crammed into a small room in the Fridley community center on Thursday night.

Republicans reportedly were asked to leave a meeting tonight of MInnesota Senate District 50 DFLers, who had gathered to discuss an attempt by state Sen. Satveer Chaudhary, DFL-Fridley, to pass legislation that would have improved fishing on a lake where he owns a cabin.

Although it might sound unMinnesotan, a state representative from northern Minnesota is so alarmed by the threat of invasive species that he's introduced a bill that would ban new public access points on lakes.
