Bergstrom aim: ‘get out in front’
Greta Bergstrom’s campaign strategy to win the DFL endorsement for the House seat being vacated by Rep. Michael Paymar is simple, according to her campaign co-chair. “Get out in front and get people backing you right from the start,” St. Paul City Council member Amy Brendmoen said.

Helgen denied DFL endorsement in Ward 5 St. Paul City Council contest
St. Paul City Council member Lee Helgen was denied endorsement by DFL party activists at Tuesday night's Ward 5 convention. The two-term incumbent led on all four ballots over challenger Amy Brendmoen, but failed to clear the 60 percent threshold required for endorsement. No balloting was permitted after 9:45 because Como Senior High School, the site of the convention, needed be vacated.
