Some 10th District judicial candidates upset with MSBA

Several of the 10th District judicial candidates who signed the Minnesota State Bar Association's judicial campaign conduct affirmation are upset that the MSBA isn't providing more assistance to them. “At least a few of us who signed the affirmation are very frustrated with the lack of support from the [MSBA and its judicial election conduct committee]," said candidate Mimi Hasselbalch. "We didn’t necessarily expect them to promote us as signers, but when this endorsement happened, we turned to them for support.”

Matthew Johnson appointed COA chief

Gov. Tim Pawlenty has elevated Court of Appeals Judge Matthew Johnson to the chief's spot, effective Nov. 1. Chief Judge Edward Toussaint, who will reach retirement age next year, will remain on the court until he does. Toussaint has been chief for 15 years.
