Supporters look to build on Olmstead Plan

The release of Minnesota’s Olmstead Plan on Nov. 1 was met with guarded enthusiasm by many of the state’s advocates for improved services for the disabled. The plan, a court-mandated strategy to improve long-term services for people with disabilities, is a broad, ambitious outline, and was arrived at after nearly a full year of cooperation among eight state agencies.

The Capitol Note: MMB plans to go forward with stadium bond sale

Minnesota Management and Budget Commissioner Jim Schowalter rejected calls from American Indian activists who were pushing for the delay of bond sales on the new Minnesota Vikings stadium, the Star Tribune reports. The activists are trying to get assurances that the word "Redskins," the' nickname for the Washington, D.C. NFL team, will not be displayed inside the stadium.

MNsure’s first month a qualified success

Launched in the shadow of the spectacular malfunctions of the federal Healthcare.gov website, the first month of MNsure was, by comparison, a smashing success. Following a brief down period on the day of launch, and a few other technical snags along the way, most people visiting the state-run health insurance exchange say the website issues seem to have been ironed out by now.
