Historical Society gets permanent deputy programs director

Pat Gaarder, a 33-year employee of the Minnesota Historical Society and its acting deputy director for programs since January, has dumped the interim tag. Gaarder takes over day-to-day operation of the society’s 26 historical sites and museums, as well as its library, archives, press operation and practically everything else it does. “I’m basically responsible for the entire program,” she says.
