Bradford, Andresen, Norrie & Camarotto, PLLP
Members of the construction industry have spent the last several years besieged by delays, often caused by supply chain issues, which has naturally led to conflicts. Contracts changed during that time and now 30% to 40% of J. Scott Andresen’s cases involve arbitration, which is a substantial increase, he said. Financially significant cases, with up to $10 million in dispute, are included.
Andresen practices construction and commercial law with the newly formed Bradford, Andresen, Norrie & Camarotto in Bloomington. The partners formed the firm in 2022 and have already added two associates. The firm also practices in employment litigation and appellate work. Its website says, “we are battle-tested trial and appellate lawyers.”
It also includes a testimonial for Andresen. “Scott Andresen stands out as being an excellent construction lawyer who has the right balance of being able to work effectively with opposing counsel to find solutions to disputes and to provide toughness and aggressive advocacy when necessary.”
This year Andresen serves as the chair of the Minnesota State Bar Association’s Construction Law Section, which has more than 300 members. One of his priorities is “getting people back together,” Andresen said. To that end, the section hosts monthly CLEs in person only. “Our industry is not a remote industry,” he said. He also promotes mentoring newer lawyers, many of whom may have missed opportunities to appear in court during the pandemic.
He is also at the Legislature when necessary, representing the construction section and not the rest of the MSBA. The section is contesting some pieces of bills that may have significant unintended consequences, Andresen said.
Andresen is also a charter fellow of the Construction Lawyers Society of America and is recognized by the international research firm Chambers and Partners as a top construction lawyer.
