Property Taxation
Valuation
Petitioners filed a petition, for taxes payable in 2020, with respect to a single-family home located in Ada. The petition alleged the estimated market value of the subject property exceeded its actual market value, and that the subject property was unequally assessed when compared to other properties. Noting that the evidence petitioners presented at trial concerning the change in assessed values from years prior to the year at issue did not constitute credible evidence that the assessor’s estimated market value was incorrect, the Tax Court concluded that petitioners failed to submit sufficient evidence to overcome the prima facie validity of the assessed value of the subject property.
