A Cambridge, Minnesota, native, he earned a bachelor’s degree from St. John’s University in Collegeville, before attending William Mitchell College of Law in St. Paul.
After graduating law school in 2011, Hickman worked for two small law firms, in consumer debt collection and then representing corporate clients in employment disputes and product liability cases. He joined Hellmuth and Johnson in January 2018. His move to the larger firm was “client driven,” he said. He currently focuses on representing individuals, families and business owners in estate planning and closely-held business law.
After only two years with the firm, he was named an equity partner in January 2020.
Hickman enjoys developing relationships with clients and learning about their businesses and families. “I like the idea that there is typically a significant amount of value I can provide to clients.”
