Today, this Greene Espel member is passionate about helping bring community to the firm and working with a wide range of business clients, many in the wind- and solar-energy sectors. Aaron also cares deeply about giving back to the next generation of lawyers, including as an award-winning professor of legal writing at St. Thomas law school.
What do you find the most rewarding or love best about working in the legal profession?
I love anything that involves an in-person interaction: strategizing with a client, taking a deposition, giving CLE presentations, really getting to know people. I can’t wait for a return to this aspect of practice.
What inspires you and motivates you to achieve your goals?
Those who I love the most — my friends and family, and my colleagues (who are definitely family too) — inspire me to constantly do better.
What’s the best piece of advice that you ever received?
My fourth-grade teacher was an early mentor. She taught us to put ourselves in the other person’s shoes.
Another key mentor, Wendy Wilding, always modeled a straightforward yet effective approach: focus on what matters.
What is something that most people don’t know about you?
I love to cook. I dreamt of being a chef; it’s a great creative outlet for me. I enjoy making a big feast — I took over Thanksgiving several years ago.
