Focusing on the financial services and real estate industries at Stinson, Hoffman has achieved a number of appellate court victories and published decisions, including those reversing unfavorable lower court decisions. He also provides dedicated representation to commercial lenders and landlords in litigation.
As one of 10 Minneapolis attorneys working with the Volunteer Lawyers Network, he provides housing advice and eviction defense representation to under-served populations in the metro area. The team of attorneys was honored with VLN’s 2018 Firm of the Year award, in part because of Hoffman’s contributions to the VLN Hennepin County Housing Court Clinic Project and the VLN Full Representation Project.
He is also a member of the firm’s legal clinic screening committee, assisting with placement of pro bono cases. “Housing is the cornerstone of a stable life. So I enjoy the opportunity to hopefully keep someone in their home or make the transition out of their current housing as seamless as possible, and prevent an adverse impact.”
