Indispensable as she is around the office, there’s more to Kasper than her tireless work for Quinlivan & Hughes’ paying clients. Schedule permitting, she sets aside one Monday each month to draft estate planning documents for first responders through the pro bono Wills for Heroes program.
“They’re all very appreciative, and it’s a good way to give back,” she said.
As a member of Quinlivan & Hughes’ United Way Committee, Kasper takes a key role in planning the firm’s annual United Way fundraising drive, a week long, multi-event undertaking.
Kasper also serves as co-chair of the St. Cloud chapter of the Minnesota Paralegal Association. She helps plan and find speakers for the chapter’s 10 annual meetings; this summer, she’s taking on an even bigger planning role as part of a local committee t asked with preparing for next year’s National Federation of Paralegal Associations convention in Minneapolis.
When she’s not flexing her legal muscles or lending her time to help those in need, Kasper practices self-care of a sort. An avid distance runner, Kasper has completed more than a dozen marathons, including an otherworldly course in Iceland and a memorable jaunt around Bermuda’s main island — twice. The Bermuda marathon “wasn’t very interesting the second time around,” she admitted.
