Representatives from the White Earth Nation and the Leech Lake Band of Ojibwe presented their tribal flags for installation in the newest courtroom at the Juvenile Justice Center that will be used for most cases under the Indian Child Welfare Act (ICWA).

Supreme Court Justice Anne McKeig and Hennepin County District Court Judge David Piper, presided over the event on Tuesday, Nov. 20 at the Juvenile Justice Center. It is hoped that in time the remaining nine tribes in Minnesota will also display their flags.
