Jade Rosenfeldt feels a calling to help her clients, both in and out of the courtroom. As a criminal defense attorney with Vogel Law Firm in Moorhead, Minnesota, she would rather see someone solve an underlying problem than just be sent into the criminal justice system.
“I like to be a problem solver,” she said. “I walk with my clients at a bad time in their lives.”
Rosenfeldt acknowledges that there are times when incarceration is the likely outcome of a situation, but maybe not the end.
“Hopefully, I have the reputation of looking at a case where litigation fits,” she said, “but that I’m not going to ignore that, if someone has three drug convictions in two years, there could be a chemical-dependency problem that we need to address.
“I’m in this to help people. I appreciate prosecutors with the same approach. Let’s get to the root of the problem.”
Rosenfeldt grew up in Moorhead and graduated from the University of North Dakota School of Law. While she has thought about moving up the judicial ranks and even applied for a judgeship, she is happy continuing to grow her own practice in her hometown.
