Retired Hennepin County District Court Judge John McShane will join the Minneapolis firm of Soule & Stull, where he will offer alternative dispute resolution services (arbitration, mediation, and special master).
McShane served on the bench from 1998 until his retirement in March. Previously, he was in private practice with Gray, Plant, Mooty, Mooty & Bennett and was a founding partner at Bowman and Brooke.
Benjamin Court has joined Stinson Leonard Street LLP as a partner in the bankruptcy and creditor’s rights practice group.
Court, who comes to the firm from Messerli & Kramer, is a member of the Equipment Leasing and Finance Association, the American Bankruptcy Institute, the National Equipment Finance Association, and the Turnaround Management Association. Court will work out of the firm’s Minneapolis office.
Gov. Mark Dayton has tapped attorneys G. Tony Atwal and Laura Nelson Olmstead to fill two vacancies on the Ramsey County Bench.
Atwal is an attorney at Johnson Becker, PLLC, where he handles cases in employment law and mass tort class action lawsuits, and also an adjunct professor at Mitchell Hamline School of Law. He was previously an assistant appellate public defender.
Nelson Olmstead is an attorney at Robins Kaplan, LLP, where she represents plaintiffs and defendants in a variety of complex commercial matters and family law litigation. Prior to that, she was a staff attorney at The Advocates for Human Rights.
