Gov. Mark Dayton has tapped Bridgid E. Dowdal to fill a vacancy on the bench in the 10th Judicial District. Dowdal, who will be chambered at Center City, is currently chief legal counsel for the Office of Inspector General at the Minnesota Department of Human Services Office of the Inspector General. Previously, she served as an assistant dean at the William Mitchell College of Law and an assistant United States attorney. She replaces Alan F. Pendleton, who was removed from office by the Minnesota Supreme Court last fall over residency violations.
Jonathan Vessey has joined Stinson Leonard Street as a partner in the firm’s corporate finance department. His practice focuses on mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, securities offerings and securities compliance. Vessey comes to the firm from the New York City office of Kramer Levin Naftalis & Frankel LLP.
Thomas R. Loonan has been hired on at Moss & Barnett. Loonan — who received his J.D., cum laude, from William Mitchell College of Law and his B.A. from Saint John’s University — will defend Fair Debt Collection Practices Act and Fair Credit Reporting Act claims and counsel creditors, debt buyers, attorneys, and businesses on compliance with state and federal credit and collection laws.
