Immigration – Voluntary Departure; Adverse Credibility Findings

Where an immigrant challenged the denial of his applications for asylum, withholding of removal and protection under the Convention Against Torture, the Board of Immigration’s decision to uphold adverse credibility findings was supported by substantial evidence and was sufficient to deny asylum and withholding of removal, and the board properly analyzed the claim under the Convention Against Torture separately, but where the board did not address the immigrant’s request for voluntary departure, the case is remanded for the limited purpose of addressing this claim. Petition for review denied in part; granted in part.
