Letter to the Editor: Beverly Aho

To Minnesota Lawyer:

I am both honored and humbled by the overwhelming, bipartisan endorsements and support that I have received throughout Hennepin County in my run for Judge 61. I congratulate Amy Dawson and her team in being elected, and wish her the very best.

I want to thank everyone who played a role in my campaign, and words cannot adequately express my gratitude for all those efforts. I also want to thank the residents of Hennepin County who voted for me — this has been a wonderful opportunity to connect with so many residents of our great county. I want to thank my husband, Brad, my family, and my outstanding Executive Committee and volunteer teams for helping me connect with tens of thousands of voters throughout our county; and special thanks to my treasurer, Gretchen Docter; co-chair, Mimi Burkhardt; legal consult including George Soule, Justice James Gilbert and Judge Robert Schumacher. The positive, effective and professional campaign that we have run was only made possible through the talent and commitment of my wonderful Executive Committee and volunteer team, consisting of dozens of talented and dedicated volunteers.

I also want to acknowledge and congratulate everyone who ran in both the primary and general elections for participating in this important part of our democracy.

Finally, I want to congratulate Governor Dayton, Senator Franken, Congressmen Erik Paulsen and Keith Ellison, and Sheriff Rich Stanek, and all those who were elected to offices and who serve Hennepin County.

It was an honor to run for judge.
