House DFL names committee chairs

Briana Bierschbach//November 16, 2012

DFL Rep. Ann Lenczewski

Incoming DFL House Speaker Paul Thissen has rolled out a list of 28 members of his new majority caucus that will hold gavels when the Legislature convenes in January.

Some of the big winners include DFL Rep. Ann Lenczweski of Bloomington, who will lead the House Taxes Committee in a year when the committee will take up budget proposals and likely a tax plan from Gov. Mark Dayton. Rep. Lyndon Carlson, who will head into his 21st term in January, will chair the prestigious Ways and Means Committee. Republican-turned DFL Rep. Ron Erhardt will chair the Transportation Policy Committee.

“I look forward to working with so many incredibly talented and knowledgeable representatives from across Minnesota,” Thissen said in a statement on Friday. “They are ready to roll up their sleeves, tackle tough challenges, and govern well.”
