Hotel owner Jim Graves has officially jumped into the DFL endorsement race to run against Republican incumbent Congresswoman Michele Bachmann in Minnesota’s 6th Congressional District.
Graves kicked off his campaign at one of his hotels in St. Cloud on Tuesday, calling Bachmann a no-show lawmaker. The hospitality union UNITE HERE was on hand at the news conference to formally endorse his campaign.
Graves originally hails from St. Cloud, but he currently lives in Minneapolis. He says he will have a residence in the 6th District soon.
Graves joins two other DFL candidates in the field — attorney Anne Nolan and businessman Brian McGoldrick. DFL activists in the district will gather this weekend to endorse a candidate in the race. Graves has not said whether he will abide by the endorsement.
Wow….compared to Bachmann, this guy is a fresh, new positive change! I’m tired of hearing the drivel that comes out of her mouth!! She can get “gas prices down below $2 per gallon.” What BS!
Gas prices are internationally driven. Even if we produced 20% more crude oil in this country, prices wouldn’t be drastically different. Among other things, there’s an international market that drives the price of gasoline. That is, if other countries have an increasing demand, the oil produced in the U.S. is going to be shipped to where the highest price is….regardless of where it’s produced!
It’s time people in this country became more educated about economics to understand the basics! (And I’m not a Democrat…I’m a registered Republican who’s tired of all the political wrangling as our lives deteriorate because politicians are too weak to act responsibly.)
