On the JD Underground discussion forum, the word “Network” has essentially become a meme and a joke. People will often post the one word response “Network” in threads where a poster is seeking advice on how to obtain a job or start a solo practice. It’s meant as a joke.
Sadly, no amount of networking will solve our nation’s lawyer oversupply and law school overproduction problem. It might help rearrange deck chairs on the Titanic or help Horse A beat out Horse Y for a job, but it won’t result in a net increase in the number of jobs for lawyers that require bar licensure.
