Winona real estate agent Jack Krage plans to run for the DFL endorsement to take on freshman Republican state Sen. Jeremy Miller in next year’s general election.
Krage, who has worked as a real estate agent for Coldwell Banker for more than 25 years, announced his run for the southwestern Senate district in a news release Wednesday, according to a report in the Rochester Post-Bulletin.
“In one short year in control of the House and Senate, [Republicans] forced a government shutdown, raised property taxes by nearly $1 billion, and there is now a good chance that the state is still in the red,” Krage said in a statement. “Minnesota needs a change in leadership.”
Krage is hoping to take on Miller, who unseated incumbent DFL Sen. Sharon Erickson Ropes in a close race last fall. The Winona area (Senate District 31) has been a key electoral battleground in the last few election cycles.
