Gov. Mark Dayton sent a letter to GOP leaders of the Legislature on Thursday offering to accept their proposal — with several conditions — made on the eve of the state government shutdown to solve the $5 billion budget deficit.
Many of the details were covered when the offer was revealed two weeks ago, but there’s at least one new wrinkle:
“…After all of the budget issues have been resolved in a special session, you support and pass a bonding bill in that session of not less than $500 million to put people back to work throughout Minnesota.”
