Moving to action on Senate files early Thursday morning, the House voted after only brief discussion on SF 958, the public safety and judiciary bill. The bill passed the body on a vote of 71-61. Rep. Sheldon Johnson (DFL-St. Paul) raised concerns about funding for courts, while Rep. Rena Moran (DFL-St. Paul) voiced her worries on gun provisions included in the omnibus bill.
House Jobs Chair Bob Gunther then summarized conference committee action on the Omnibus Jobs and Economic Development bill. The House acted on SF 887 after a short discussion. The measure passed by the same vote, 71-61.
Both measures have achieved Senate approval, and will now be presented to Gov. Mark Dayton.
