Republican leaders at the Capitol have set committee deadlines for the 2011 session, bumping up the date for finance proposals to be heard in face of a multi-billion budget deficit.
All finance proposals must be on the way to the House Ways and Means or Senate Finance committees by March 25. Policy bills must meet one of two deadlines: April 29 and May 6.
Usually policy proposals are due through committee before finance bills. The chance reflects Republicans’ plan to get to work early on the $6.2 billion budget deficit, Majority Leader Matt Dean said.
Senate Majority Leader Amy Koch said the Senate will follow the same deadlines.
