Gov. Mark Dayton has tapped Ted Mondale to run the Metropolitan Sports Facilities Commission.
The commission owns the Metrodome and is a key player in the on-going NFL football stadium issue.
Mondale, the son of former Vice President Walter Mondale, served in the state Senate and was chairman of the Metropolitan Council during Gov. Jesse Ventura’s administration.
The Star Tribune noted that Mondale served on Hennepin County’s Twins design group a decade ago. He also went to school with NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell.
Mondale resides in St. Louis Park, which is important because the MSFC chair must reside outside of Minneapolis.
