Retired DFL Rep. Larry Haws is recovering from brain surgery in a St. Cloud hospital, the St. Cloud Times reported Thursday.
The 71-year-old Haws had surgery Tuesday to remove a large tumor from his brain, according to the report, and he’s currently recovering in the intensive care unit. Doctors are doing a biopsy on the tumor, but Haws is expected to need radiation therapy regardless of the results.
Haws officially retired Jan. 1 of this year after representing House District 15B since 2006. Haws also spent a number of years in local government before running for the Legislature.
