State Rep. Rena Moran, DFL-St. Paul, paid tribute to Vang Pao on the House floor Thursday. The revered Hmong military leader died earlier this month at the age of 81.
Pao commanded Hmong forces during the Vietnam War as they fought in support of the United States. He subsequently led the migration to their adopted country.
In her speech, Moran described his death as an “immeasurable loss to all of us, Hmong and non-Hmong.”
The House then observed a moment of silence in Pao’s honor.
