The Minnesota Department of Management and Budget has hired public finance advisor Kristin Hanson as the new assistant commissioner for debt management and treasury.
She will be leaving the Ehlers public finance firm, where she has been a senior vice president and financial adviser. She has worked there since 1995. She was a legislative assistant in the state House in 1993 and also worked in Congress.
Hanson replaces Kathy Kardell, who left MMB last year to work for Hennepin County. The assistant commissioner for Treasury is the lead bureaucrat on taking the state’s bond sales to market.
